Hallets Cove Free Community Walkup Kayaking
Sat, July 26 & Sat, Aug 9 | 1pm–4pm
Free kayaking from Socrates’ beach at Hallet’s Cove (31-10 Vernon Blvd). First come, first served. No experience needed; equipment provided. All ages welcome. Minors must be accompanied by a guardian.
Ballet Folklórico Mexicano de Nueva York’s Annual Guelaguetza Festival

Celebrate the traditional Zapotec festival of “Guelaguetza,” a vibrant exchange of dance, music, and gifts from Oaxaca’s eight regions, including the famous “Dance of the Pineapple.”
The Reconstruction of “We”: Botanical Cyanotype Workshop with Natalia Nakazawa

Join artist Natalia Nakazawa to create cyanotype banners inspired by Oaxaca’s spirit of cooperation and Socrates’ history. All ages welcome.
Sunset Meditation with Mindful Astoria

All levels welcome. Bring a mat, blanket, or cushion. Limited mats and chairs available first-come, first-served.
Yoga at Socrates with Astoria Yoga
Sundays through September 28 | No RSVP needed
Free Vinyasa yoga classes for all levels. Bring a mat or towel. Check @astoria.yoga on Instagram for cancellations due to weather.
