OANA Position on Tenant Rental Laws

OANA has expressed the following reactions to the various proposals for rent regulations being debated in Albany.

In general, we take the view that the loopholes that currently exist that a few unscrupulous landlords take advantage of can be addressed without penalizing the vast majority of honest landlords. And our housing stock should be kept to the highest standard, which means funding should be available.

We know this is an issue of intense debate and we expect differing opinions, but we also view this is an extremely important issue and all points of view are part of the mix that should lead to fair and just regulations for all.
