Direct Public transit between Outer Boroughs
Public Transportation in NYC has always been Manhattan Centric. Travel between the outer boroughs almost always includes being diverted to Manhattan. There are very few direct options. Regional Plan Association has created “The Triboro: Transit in the Boroughs” as an overview of various options. As more and more residents are priced out of Manhattan, and now live and work in the outer Boroughs, it has become imperative that our public transit system face NYC’s new reality. Our Mayor has addressed this issue with his proposal for a Brooklyn-Queens streetcar (BQX), and this report advised more options!
We look forward to everyone’s comments and ideas!
