April Updates for Socrates Sculpture Park
OANA recently received Socrates Sculpture Park’s April newsletter and we’re excited to share highlights of their upcoming events. While there’s no web link to view the full newsletter, you can ensure you receive future editions by signing up here.
Quoting from the newsletter:
“Spring is here, and so is an exciting opportunity to come together for a cause that matters—our planet’s future. This April, we are thrilled to partner with Start and Dandelions Assembly for the 4th annual Earth Month Convergence (EMC), taking place over two Saturdays at Socrates. This free event for all ages is a unique chance for all who are passionate about environmental justice, offering space to build, strategize, and nurture both our communities and the Earth in the face of today’s pressing crises.
The Park has always been a place for artists, organizers, educators – everyone who believes another world is possible.
We are also excited to announce the extension of The Socrates Annual 2024. These ecological and sculptural installations have spent almost a full year engaging the Park’s past, present, and future inhabitants within its former industrial landscape. Return for another viewing before the exhibition closes Sunday, April 20th.”
Upcoming events include the Earth Month Convergence featuring workshops, art-making, and environmental justice activities on April 19 and 26, plus explore “The Socrates Annual 2024” exhibition addressing “Invasive Species” through innovative public artworks. Visit the Socrates Sculpture Park website to see all upcoming events including the newly announced Artist Fellows for 2025 and the Socrates Gala on June 5.
