Queens Residents Urged To Participate In Redistricting Commission Hearings

The Old Astoria Neighborhood Association urges every Queens resident to participate in the New York Independent Redistricting Commission Hearings, which will start on October 20th.

The Queens County hearing will take place on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 3:00 pm.

Sign-up for public hearings will close 48 hours before the meeting. The hearings will be a great opportunity for New Yorkers to offer their input in such an important debate, which may bring changes to the outcome of elections.

To register for the public hearing occurring on November 17, 2021, you must first log in or sign-up to an IRC’s account. You can do this by clicking here. You will then be directed to a page where you will specify the date of the hearing.

This is particularly important as there are now conflicting district maps by both republicans and democrats from a commission that was established to supposedly take politics out of redistricting.
