NYC Bike Lanes Should Have Appropriate Traffic Controls

Our shared roadways create a shared experience for all, which affects everyone’s quality of life. Beyond the movement of people through the city, also the movement of freight, and service vehicles are directly affected.

There was a recent tragic death in Astoria on 24th avenue, and we decided to address what we feel is the most important aspect being ignored in traffic safety:

“No block should have a bike lane installed without the appropriate traffic controls”
“All blocks currently with bike lanes should have the appropriate traffic controls”

Please read our  Op-Ed on shared roadways. Crains NY and the Queens Gazette also published edited versions of our Op-Ed.
