New Department of Sanitation Location
OANA Admin The New York City Department of Sanitation is looking for a new location for the Queens West One (QW1) Sanitation garage. DOD officials said that the present garage at 34-28 21st Street, which has housed QW1 for some 80 years, is in such bad condition that it is in danger of being condemned. Asked for comment, Community Board 1, Queens District Manager Florence Koulouris said that a replacement for the building was definitely needed, although it may take some time for the City to find a suitable site in the district for the new garage.
