Community members in Queens are now invited to apply for membership in the 2025 Queens General Assembly (QGA). This is a great opportunity to work with other Queens residents to build a better borough.
Interested individuals should demonstrate a commitment to community service and a desire to build community. Applications are being accepted until February 19, 2025, with the selection process concluding with an installation ceremony for new delegates in late March. For application submissions and further inquiries, please contact Queens General Assembly Coordinator Susie Tanenbaum at stanebaum@queensbp.nyc.gov.
About the Queens General Assembly The QGA serves as a borough-level intercultural working group that gathers monthly to discuss and implement community-focused initiatives. Since its inception 22 years ago, the assembly has been a platform for promoting leadership, coalition-building, and networking among Queens residents. Through the efforts of its delegates, the QGA has made significant impacts, including organizing substantial donations to local food pantries and coordinating holiday toy drives for family shelters. This year, delegates will have the unique opportunity to contribute to these ongoing efforts while developing personal and professional skills that benefit all of Queens.
