DSNY Fall Leaf Collection Now Happens Every Week

This fall, the New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) will start collecting leaves every week on your regular recycling day. With curbside composting now available to all residential buildings in every borough, there’s no need to wait for special leaf collection days.
What You Need to Do:
- Bag or Bin Your Leaves and Yard Waste: Use a brown compost bin, a paper leaf/lawn bag, or a clear plastic bag.
- Set Them Out on Your Recycling Day: Place them curbside alongside your other compostable materials like food scraps and food-soiled paper.
