DOB Community Event Coming to Sunnyside (Aug 1st)

Property owners, homeowners, contractors, and small business owners across Queens are invited to attend the NYC Department of Buildings’ “DOB in Your Community” event on Saturday, August 1, 2026, where residents can receive free, one-on-one guidance on a variety of building and property-related issues.

The event will take place from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM at Sunnyside Community Services, located at 43-31 39th Street.

The Department of Buildings will have staff available to help with:

• Construction project consultations
• Assistance resolving open DOB violations and OATH summonses
• Guidance on resolving Stop Work Orders
• Information on general building regulations, permits, and property maintenance requirements

Representatives from the Neighborhood Housing Services of Queens CDC, Inc. will also be present to provide housing assistance and resources.

This is a great opportunity to speak directly with NYC Department of Buildings experts, get answers to your questions, and receive free guidance on permits, renovations, violations, Stop Work Orders, and other building-related concerns.
