Events and Performances at Green Space This Weekend

Green Space in Long Island City continues to be a hub for innovative performance and local artists. This weekend, the continues it’s Take Root series, featuring choreographed evening performances, as well as Fertile Ground, a showcase for new works.

Take Root – November 14 & 15 at 8 PM

This month’s Take Root features works by Hannah Louise Barnard & Emily Marie Pope and Jasmine Canziani/JasmineSaraChoreography.
In Mother Wound, Barnard and Pope create a ceremonial, emotionally charged performance exploring the bond between humanity and nature through the mother‑daughter relationship.
Subway Suite, from Canziani / JasmineSaraChoreography, dramatizes social constructs on the New York City subway through movement, jazz, and playful theatricality.

Fertile Ground – November 16 at 7 PM

Fertile Ground is a non‑curated showcase where emerging and established choreographers present new works in a single evening, followed by a moderated discussion with dancers and the audience.
Featured this month are Abigail Nelson, Elisa Meyer, Hailey Offing, Heather Kroe, Lily Moreschi, and Verena Lee, with moderation by Chris Ferris.

Both programs highlight Green Space’s commitment to supporting creativity and community in Western Queens.
