New Food Pantry Program Launches

A new food distribution program is launching in Astoria headed up by Mentors on the Move in partnership with the Champlain Hudson Power Express. OANA is honored to support this essential community service. Hunger is one of the most challenging experiences anyone can face, as it impacts and overshadows every aspect of our lives, especially when it occurs amidst abundance. Our neighborhood is greatly improved with the presence of a Food Pantry, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved.

Great Health Is The Real Wealth and the journey begins with the food we eat… So this Food Distribution Collaboration is a necessity that will help the people of our Village by providing a resource that helps them financially and physically, two key components in towards that Greatness! “Everyone needs to eat. And for some time now, there hasn’t been a food pantry or regular distribution to serve our food-insecure neighbors in this part of Astoria. Saint George’s has been here for nearly two-hundred years, and as a church we are thrilled to once again be a part of stepping into a gap of need alongside our community partners in this concrete and active way.”
