NYC Sanitation Launches Official NYC Bin

The NYC Department of Sanitation (DSNY) has launched the Official NYC Bin. These are standardized bins aim to improve the way garbage and waste across the City. If you’re a property owner or tenant, you can you can have your landlord visit bins.nyc to purchase one.

If you have a lidded bin of 55 gallons or less, you can continue using it until June 2026. DSNY also highlights that replacing old bins is a smart investment, emphasizing that the new NYC Bins are more affordable than other bins available online.

Starting November 9th, bins will be required for all buildings with 1-9 units.
