Affordable Housing Lottery Launched for 31-05 21st Street In Astoria

According to an article by New York YIMBY, an affordable housing lottery has been launched for 31-05 21st Street, a structure located in Astoria, Queens. Designed by Greenberg Farrow, the building is eight stories high and accommodates 23 residential apartments. NYC Housing Connect states that 7 units are available for potential residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), earning an income from $72,000 to $187,330.

At this AMI percent rate, there are five one-bedroom units with a monthly rent of $2,100 for incomes ranging from $72,000 to $156,130; one one-bedroom unit with a monthly rent of $2,200 for residents earning from $75,429 to $156,130; and one two-bedroom unit with a monthly rent of $2,600 for incomes ranging from $89,143 to $187,330. One important factor is that these apartments are permanently stabilized.

The structure provides residents with a few amenities, including lockers, package lockers, security cameras, gated access, and a rooftop terrace. Residences are also equipped with dishwashers, name-brand kitchen countertops and finishes, energy-efficient appliances, air conditioning, hardwood floors, high-speed internet, and a patio or balcony.

Potential renters must meet both income and household size requirements to apply for the residential units. Applicants have until August 8, 2022, to submit their applications either online or via mail.
