NYC Budget Input Needed
The Budget Process for NYC for fiscal year 2022 is underway, and one of the first steps is for the public to advise what their needs are.
Community Board 1 in Queens will hold their public hearing where you can submit your proposals on September 10th at 6 PM.
The agenda is as follows:
The zoom information is as follows:
If you cannot make the meeting, or not sure which Community Board District you are located in, you can email us at Info@oana-ny.org (put “2022 Budget” as Subject) and we will forward to the appropriate Board.
Also, OANA has its Monthly meeting the same night. Just go to www.facebook.com/OANA.NewYork at 6:30
There are 2 types of Budget requests:
- Capital Budget, which involves physical infrastructure projects for either government support or the General Public (Like parks, etc). This budget is funded by the city issuing bonds.
- Expense Budget: Funds Government services, including salaries and routine operating expenses. Items like the First responders and other city agencies are funded under this budget. This budget is funded out of the taxes.
If you are not sure what budget your request would fall under, just submit it to us and we will do our best to categorize it correctly.
We will forward all requests we receive to the appropriate Community Board in Queens, who can use this information to help create their recommendations. If possible, with your request can you advise your Community Board? If you do not know it, please advise the area or address of the issue.
This is extremely important input that is essential in our quality of life meeting our needs. Your participation is extremely important, and we appreciate your help
