NYC Small Business Opening Survey (Deadline March 6th)

The NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) is asking business owners to complete a short survey about how long it took to open their business and begin making sales in NYC.

The survey focuses on experiences with permits, licenses, and approvals from city agencies. Businesses that opened after January 1, 2023 are especially encouraged to participate.

Feedback will help the city identify ways to streamline the startup process and reduce fees and fines for small businesses.

Businesses that complete the survey will receive 1–3 hours of free financial advisory services through an SBS program.
