The Noguchi Museum: New Exhibition of The Sculpture of Gonzalo Fonseca

Trying to figure out what to do this weekend?  Look no further than the to the Noguchi Museum located at 9-01 33rd Road in Old Astoria and their exhibition of the Sculpture of Gonzalo Fonseca.

Fonseca was a major figure for “sculpting” modern Latin American art.  The sculpture is compiled of around 80 objects from the ‘60s to ‘90s along with multiple drawings and sketchbooks.

The Noguchi Museum was designed by Isamu Noguchi in 1985 and was one of the first Museums to relocate outside of Manhattan.  This was done because the museum wanted to be close to the artists that were also relocating in and around Queens.  The Noguchi Museum was an early pioneer to the art-rich neighborhood that we have today.

The Sculptor of Gonzalo Fonseca has been open since October and will be open in the museum until March 11, 2018.  The admission for the museum, including the Sculpture of Gonzalo Fonseca, is only $10!  Hurry in to observe modern Latin American art!
