Booker first worked at Socrates in the 1990s, experimenting with large-scale sculptural forms made from repurposed rubber tires. Her work has since become internationally recognized, and her return to the park marks a full-circle moment in the institution’s history. As part of the anniversary celebration, Booker will present two of her works, Serendipity (1998) and Gridlock (2008), reconnecting audiences with the bold sculptural language that helped define her practice. Date: Thursday, June 4, 2026 Time: 6:30–9:30 PM Location: Spacetime C.C., 30-40 Vernon Boulevard, Long Island City The gala celebrates four decades of creative experimentation, ecological stewardship, and community engagement at Socrates Sculpture Park while supporting the park’s exhibitions, education programs, and free public programming.
