Apply to Join Queens Community Board 1

Queens Community Board 1 is now accepting applications from residents who want to serve as public members on its committees. Old Astoria residents and neighbors throughout the district can apply by November 15, 2026.

Applicants should be ready to attend their committee’s meetings and take part in discussions. Once appointed, they can share their perspective, count toward a quorum, and vote on committee matters. They’re also encouraged to attend the monthly full board meetings, though attendance is optional and they only vote in their committee.

Applicants must live in Queens Community District 1 and have a significant interest in the district.

You can also call CB 1 at 718-626-1021 for a paper form or to ask questions. Current public members who wish to stay on their committee should also reapply by November 15.
