Opportunity to Become a Lifeguard!

NYC Parks is now recruiting lifeguards for summer 2025. Like last year, this is a great opportunity to learn important skills, get a great job on your resume and build strength. NYC Lifeguards help keep the millions of New Yorkers safe who visit our pools and beaches across the city.

Candidates must be 16 or older, able to swim 50 yards in 50 seconds, and pass a vision test. Those who qualify complete a 16-session training course in CPR, first aid, and lifesaving skills.

Lifeguards earn $22 per hour plus an $880 end-of-season bonus. If you’re looking for a summer gig, you should check it out!
