Give Feedback on DSNY’s Citywide Containerization Plan

The Department of Sanitation (DSNY) has launched a new initiative to containerize trash citywide, moving waste off sidewalks and into bins and stationary containers across all five boroughs. But according to a recent Gothamist article, the full rollout could take up to seven years due to parking concerns, though officials say progress may happen sooner. This initiative will affect parking, traffic, neighborhood design, and daily life, and follows successful pilot programs in Harlem that have helped reduce rat populations. DSNY is preparing a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) and needs public input.
