Redistricting will change how communities are represented at the New York City Council for the coming decade. Your Council Member makes laws, gives out millions of dollars a year to improve the neighborhood, and often has deference in decisions on rezoning and housing projects. But Council Districts are drawn by a special commission, not by lawmakers themselves.
