Backpack Giveaway

Hope your summer has been going great so far! For those with kids, you may already be thinking about shopping for back-to-school. St. George’s Episcopal Church knows that this can be an expensive time of year for many families, so they are hosting a Backpack Giveaway on Saturday, August 17, from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm. School supplies are included with the backpack.

Location: 14-20 27 Ave (at 14th Street), Astoria. The giveaway is open to Grades K – 8, and the event will take place rain or shine.

Clare Doyle

Clare Doyle is a graduate of the M.A. program in Museum Studies at the University of Leicester, UK. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Studies as well as a B.A. in Archaeology and History from University Dublin, Ireland. She has worked for 30 years in library reference publishing in New York. Clare is the Vice President of Green Shores NYC, a non-profit group that advocates for a cleaner, greener and more connected waterfront in Astoria and Long Island City
