Clean-up on Astoria Cove site

If the faces in the picture of a clean-up at Astoria Cove/9th Street are familiar they should be: NYPD 114th Precinct Sector David Neighborhood Coordinating Officers Joseph Esposito and Keith Matthes are working with the community to clean up a site whose condition has been a cause of local concern. Diane Kontzoglou Treasurer of OANA, has been a strong advocate for cleaning up of this parcel on 26th ave between 8 and 9th streets, and we at OANA greatly appreciate the help from the 114th precinct in this matter. NCO Officer Joseph Esposito said: “Alma Realty owns the property and they’re working with us to clean it up for the community. The area is that entire yard, running from 9th street over to 26 Ave, down by the water.”

OANA would also like to thank Borough President Melinda Katz and Councilman Costa Constantinides for their support in initiating this cleanup.
