August at the Noguchi Museum
It’s a busy month at the Noguchi Museum! On Friday August 4, it’s Free First Friday. Enjoy free admission and extended summer hours from 10 am to 8 pm. Stroll around the art, take a tour and sip evening drinks in the relaxing ambience of the sculpture garden! (Cash bar in the restaurant, refreshments free to museum members).
And on Sunday, August 6, it’s Community Day as The Noguchi Museum celebrates its neighbors. Admission is free all day from 10 am to 6 pm, with special programming and activities. Open Studio for families with kids (from 2 to 11 years old) from 11 am to 2 pm; gallery tours at 2 pm, and a Center of Attention conversation at 4 pm.
On Sunday August 13, the Bang on a Can Music Series continues with Alsarah & the Nubatones at 3 pm. Bang on a Can performances are free with Museum admission, seating is available on benches and floor mats in the sculpture garden on a first-come, first-served basis. In case of rain or the artist’s preference, concerts take place in the galleries.
And the exhibition Solid Doubts: Robert Stadler at The Noguchi Museum, continues through August, closing on September 3rd. In this exhibition, works by Robert Stadler (Austria, b. 1966) are installed in tandem with Noguchi’s sculptures in the Museum’s ground-level galleries and in the sculpture garden. Solid Doubts is organized by The Noguchi Museum and is curated by Noguchi Museum Senior Curator Dakin Hart in collaboration with Robert Stadler. Don’t miss it!
